Teaching and Outreach

An overview of my eaching responsiblities and some outreach activities are given below. See also the MathSys newsletterLink opens in a new window that a few students and myself put together when we were forced to work remotely!

Teaching

Graduate Teaching Assistant | University of Warwick (2020-Present)

  • 2021/22: Stochastic modelling and random processes (MA933), Brownian motion (MA4F7), and Intro to PDEs (MA250).
  • 2020/21: Intro to PDEs (MA250), Algorithms (CS260), and Introduction to Mathematical Biology (MA256).

Mathematics Tutor | Kings College London (2020-21)

  • Teaching: Numerical and Computational Methods (6CCM359a) and Introduction to Dynamical Systems (4CCM131a).

Mathematics Tutor | University of Bath (2016-17)

  • Teaching: Programming and Discrete Mathematics (1st year).
Outreach

President/Webmaster | Warwick SIAM-IMA Student ChapterLink opens in a new window (2020-2022)

Culham Plasma Physics Summer School | Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (2022)

Gaussian Processes Summer School | University of Sheffield (2021)

UK Graduate Modelling Camp | University of Oxford (2021)

  • Participant of UK Graduate Modelling Camp (virtually) working with five other PhD students to mathematically model how "Fish sperm locate an egg in open water".

HetSys Study Group | University of Warwick (2020)

  • Participant of the HetSys virtual industry study group event in which myself and a small team developed mathematical modelling ideas for "Quantifying the degree of mixing in chocolate formulation" with Mondelez International.

Interdisciplinary article on complexity science (2020) - PDFLink opens in a new window

  • Article written for an interdisciplinary module discussing whether increased complexity in scientific models leads to less informative results.

UK Mathematics Trust Volunteer (2017-2019)

  • Roles have included student mentoring/tutoring for UKMT competitions, BMO marking and annual Maths Miniatures competition judging.
