Key actors attended a successful event on 30 July 2015 at University of Birmingham exploring the health policies of the new UK government and the potential implications for the CLAHRC WM initiative. The discussion was led by Prof Jon Glasby, Head of School of Social Policy at the University of Birmingham. Following a historical overview of health reforms since the start of New Labour in the 1990s, an exploratory discussion around the new government health policy agenda took place, including debate about 7 day services, capacity for innovation versus service delivery, and significance of the five year forward view.
