Warwick Evidence is an academic research group within the Population, Evidence and Technologies grouping in the Division of Health Sciences. We undertake reviews and evidence synthesis on the clinical and cost effectiveness of health care interventions for the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme on behalf of a range of policy makers, including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) since 2011. We are one of nine Technology Assessment Report Teams across the country who undertake Technology Assessment Reports (TARs). The TAR teams provide NICE with essential information to make decisions on whether to recommend technologies (drugs, other treatments, devices and diagnostics) for use within the NHS.
Led by staff at Warwick Medical School, Warwick Evidence brings together experts in clinical and cost effectiveness reviewing, epidemiology, public health, screening and diagnostics, health economics, statistics and modelling. The multidisciplinary team works collaboratively across several departments at the University of Warwick and is supported by clinical and methodological advisors at local, national and international level.
