On 1st October, partners from across the Midlands region welcomed Professor Sir John Bell to explore the considerable Life Science strengths and opportunities present.

The Midlands region has been propelled to the forefront of the UK’s NMR capability, thanks to a £20m investment across UK institutions from the EPSRC.

Health Data Research UK is awarding £30 million funding to six sites across the UK to address challenging healthcare issues through use of data science. Each site has world-class expertise; a track record in using health data to derive new knowledge, scientific discovery and insight; and works in close partnership with NHS bodies and the public to translate research findings into benefits for patients and populations.

Midlands Innovation, one of the region’s most influential academic collaborations, is expanding its portfolio with the addition of two new members, Keele University and Cranfield University.
