WMS TRANSFORM team receives national NIHR Impact Prize commendation
The WMS-led TRANSFORM research project, ‘Improving access to mental healthcare for people with serious mental illness in urban slums in Bangladesh and Nigeria by working with faith and traditional healers’, has received a Commendation for Inclusion in the NIHR Impact Prizes 2026.
The award recognises the team's outstanding contribution to improving access to mental healthcare for some of the world's most underserved communities through innovative partnership working with faith and traditional healers. The commendation highlights the impact of research that delivers meaningful change and promotes inclusion on a global scale.
This national recognition from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is a testament to the dedication, expertise and collaborative spirit of everyone involved in the project. congratulations to Professor Singh and the wider team on this well-deserved achievement.
