Developing an inclusive health and care research system with people from Black African Diaspora Communities

Eleanor Hoverd (NIHR ICA Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow, Warwick Applied Health) has co-produced a short film as part of her PhD study: Developing an inclusive health and care research system: a realist evaluation of participation in health and care research with people from Black African Diaspora Communities, in the UK.

The short film, which you can watch below, was co-produced with a range of individuals from around the health and care research system who self-identified as being part of a Black African Diaspora Community and have worked with Eleanor throughout the study. It shares a brief introduction to the study along with a poem based upon some of the findings by national canal laureate, Roy McFarlane. It shares the views of some of the members of the co-production group about inclusion and participation in health and care research by people from Black African Diaspora Communities and summarises key findings. The film was previewed by participants and members of the public at a recent dissemination event at Coventry cathedral.
