My responsibilities

My role in the department is to support the bioimaging needs of the research groups and ensure production of imaging data of highest quality. In particular, I am in charge of:

  • Quality control and maintenance of divisional equipment related to bioimaging (e.g. microscopes, processing workstations and related soft/hardware);
  • Market research and purchasing of new equipment;
  • Monitoring/optimization of usage of shared equipment;
  • Training of users to use the equipment;
  • Consulting of users on microscopy techniques/applications;
  • Help with optimisation of imaging process and troubleshooting of existing problems;
  • Organisation of workshops and courses in area of bioimaging;
  • Teaching of basics of light microscopy in biology applications.
