Don't Want To Be Involved?
The PARAMEDIC2 trial is complete and the issuing of 'No Study' bracelets has now stopped. Individuals who have previously requested a bracelet will be receiving a confirmation letter to the address provided in the original request.
We respect the wishes of members of the public who do not wish to take part in the PARAMEDIC 2 trial. If you would not wish to take part in the PARAMEDIC 2 trial, in the event that you have a cardiac arrest, you can request a stainless steel no study bracelet. Local paramedics will be trained to look for these bracelets in the same way they do for other medical ID bands. This means that, in the event that you have a cardiac arrest, you will receive standard treatment which may include adrenaline. This system is used successfully in North America for a number of trials. You should wear this bracelet for the duration of the trial and will be contacted at the end of the trial to inform you that you no longer need to wear the bracelet. We suggest you also inform those close to you about your wish not to participate in the trial. Paramedics will respect these wishes if they are notified of them. |
