Long Term Conditions


We lead work to develop and evaluate new models of care and interventions to address the key challenges associated with long-term conditions in today's health service.

This includes research related to Stroke, lower back pain, COPD, Rheumatoid arthritis, Falls prevention, Dementia, Smoking cessation and Diabetes

STREAM - Screen and Treat For Malnutrition - NIHR funded project to develop and test a mixed digital and non-digital behaviour change intervention for older people, to be delivered in primary care. To identify people who may be at risk of malnutrition, and offer treatment with dietary advice, oral nutritional supplements or referral to a dietitian, depending on people’s needs.

PPP-GDM - Pakistan Prevention Programme for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, funded by MRC.

Cerebral Vasomotor Regulation in Atrial Fibrillation Study - funded by British Heart Foundation.

CAADDI - Carbohydrate Awareness Advice by Dietitians in Diabetes - NIHR Doctoral Training Fellowship.
