Background

Background:

I am a registered Public Health Nutritionist. After graduating from my MSc in Nutrition with Public Health Management I worked in the NHS and local authority for 7 years. I worked as a Weight Management Advisor (adults) initially before moving on to work as a Community Nutritionist in a children's public health nutrition team in Nottingham City. Within this role I had a focus on early year’s nutrition (under 5’s). I have also worked as a Specialist Diabetes Educator across Nottinghamshire. In 2013 I started working for the public health department at Wolverhampton City Council as a Specialist Health Improvement Practitioner. Within this role I was responsible for coordinating and delivering a British Heart Foundation programme for overweight children (2-18yrs) within the home, taking a family-based approach. I also developed a new early year’s obesity prevention programme which combined nutrition, physical activity, cooking skills and positive parenting. I was involved in a healthier takeaways project with environmental health as well as work place health initiatives.
