Workshops on Day 1 rotation

  • Workshop: Obstetric emergencies
    Learn how to manage important obstetric emergencies including shoulder dystocia, post-partum haemorrhage and peri-mortem C sections in this hands on and interactive workshop.

  • Workshop: Burns management
    Develop your skills in burns management and gain a greater understanding of the importance of efficient management and associated complications.
     
  • Workshop: Performing an A-E assessment
    Watch a demonstration of performing an assessment of the acutely unwell patient with a chance to take part in a a challenging simulation with complex trauma scenarios.

Workshops on Day 2 rotation

  • Workshop: Kit familiarisation and patient packaging - BSR3
    You will have an opportunity to use some of the kit that will be utilised during the mass casualty simulations, and be given a demonstration on how to package patients for extraction.

  • Workshop: Major Incident triage sieve - MTC Rooms 0.4,0.6,0.8
    Practice the skills required in mass casualty major incidents to triage patients.

Mass Casualty Simulation

You are the pre-hospital team attending a mass casualty major incident, rotating between three mass casualty simulation zones

  • Triage zone
    At the heart of the incident, triaging patient and focusing on extraction.

  • Casualty clearance site
    Just outside of the main incident providing essential treatment to a variety of medical and trauma patients.

  • Resus zone
    The patients have been handed over and you are the Resus team managing their complex injuries and conditions.
