Learn Clinical Examination Skills at WMS

Our Clinical Examination Skills course will help you to develop the knowledge you need to deliver safe and effective autonomous care.

We know that working in healthcare can be demanding. Patients often present with multiple conditions; you’re short staffed; and you’re up against tough financial pressures. What if you could take the experience and knowledge you’ve gained over your career and use it even more effectively? Imagine cutting patient waiting times by being able to diagnose and prescribe medications for minor ailments. We believe our courses could help make that your reality.

Clinical Examination Skills course

Designed for healthcare professionals with at least four years of post-registration experience, our course in Clinical Examination Skills will give you the knowledge you need to conduct an autonomous clinical examination and effectively manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

As well as studying the key functional anatomy and physiology of the major body systems, you will learn how to:

  • undertake a detailed history
  • perform a focused physical examination using the medical model
  • identify appropriate investigations and provide a rationale
  • make a diagnosis
  • select a treatment/management plan for the patient

The module is suitable for professionals from a variety of backgrounds including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiology, pharmacy, operating department practitioners, critical care outreach, paramedical staff and doctors who want to pursue a clinically-focused career pathway.

There are places available on our course starting on 22 March. Find out more and apply.
