The University of Warwick has a convenient, central position in England for exploring the country. Coventry is a cosmopolitan city with numerous opportunities (such as at the West Orchards centre) to shop at high street, department and independent stores. At night, there’s a wealth of entertainment on offer for students, including watching a play at the Belgrade theatre, eating out at one of the city’s many restaurants, sampling a pint of beer at a typical British pub, watching a band live at the Ricoh Arena or dancing the night away to your favourite music in a top nightclub.

The university campus borders the county of Warwickshire, best-known for being Shakespeare country - the playwright William Shakespeare was born in Stratford Upon Avon in 1564. His birthplace is a popular tourist attraction and there are numerous Elizabethan properties for you to visit. Or why not watch one of his plays performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company?

Also nearby are the towns of Royal Leamington Spa, with its historic Pump Rooms and Victorian park, and Warwick, where you can explore the medieval Warwick Castle and its many attractions. Or you could explore the picturesque villages in the rural area known as The Cotswolds.
