Minority Ethnic Backgrounds
WMS is committed to all our students achieving the best in their studies irrespective of ethnicity, background or characteristics. We have committed a lot of resources into this and we are already seeing the success of working with various student groups, networks and societies. The attainment gap working group has an overarching role in monitoring this and are happy to be contacted for information, support and welcome student participation.

Message from Yaseen (President), Tamannah and Sophia (Vice Presidents) WMS BME Network Welfare Officer
The WMS NEMMS has been a key society in helping to build a wider support network through meeting other BME students from all different years. As president and vice-presidents our role will focus on working with the team to promote a safe and nurturing environment within the medical school for students of ethnic minority backgrounds. We aim to provide a sense of community through various events, talks, and gatherings. This is a space in which you will always find support, in whatever way or form.
Please feel free to reach out if if you have any questions or just want a chat through our instagram or email (linked above).
Warwick Muslims Medics Society
You can follow the society on Instagram. The society organises socials, provides important information (clinical dress code, prayer rooms), arranges gender-segregated medical skills practice for its members. The society aims to create a space for all Muslims based at Warwick Medical School to network and it organises social events that are conducive to the beliefs of its members.
The Muslim Student Guide to Warwick Medical School is a comprehensive guide developed by fellow WMS Muslim medical students.
