Widening Participation

Warwick WHAM

WMS is working to widen access to medicine for groups who are currently under-represented in medicine, alongside supporting students all the way through medical school. As well as the work being undertaken by the medical school itself, Warwick WHAMLink opens in a new window (Widening Access to Healthcare and Medicine) is a student-led network dedicated to widening participation in healthcare and medicine. As well as running online information events designed for prospective applicants, WHAM offer support for students currently on the course, providing sessions for new medical students on tackling imposter syndrome and staging events on placements, careers, foundation applications and success as a doctor.

Throughout medical school, you may find yourself at times facing additional challenges you didn't anticipate, or you may just have some questions that you're struggling to find the answer to. When this happens, WHAM is always available for you to reach out to for support and advice on what to do so you can make the most out of your time here.
Alternatively, if you feel you can relate to the struggles of trying to get into or through medical school and want to help others who may be struggling, let us know and we'll get you involved with some of our events so that you can make a difference to someone going through what you have.

You can reach out to Warwick WHAM on FacebookLink opens in a new window or InstagramLink opens in a new window.
