Coventry doctor and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Warwick Medical School Robert Higgins has been hailed as a national role model for his pioneering work as a kidney transplant specialist.
Professor Peile, Associate Dean WMS, comments, "Dr Higgins teaches Warwick Medical Students on one of the clinical partnerships at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He is valued by students for teaching general internal medicine, alongside his speciality of clinical nephrology. He is also an active researcher and works closely with researchers based within the Clinical Sciences Research Institute and Health in the Community Divisions of Warwick Medical School"
Dr Higgins has Chaired a group that has written guidleines for the British Transplantation Society on Antibody Incompatible Transplantation.
