Set up with the aim of providing an insight into what a career in Oncology entails and the many opportunities available within this discipline. A possibility for medical students of all years to experience the roles of Clinical and Medical Oncologists within both the hospital and local community.
The society also aims to introduce you to some of the many areas and focuses of research in the field, from both clinical and academic perspectives. And hopes to offer an insight into the responsibilities of the many different healthcare professionals involved in the inter-disciplinary treatment and management of cancer.
The society will be facilitating a series of lectures from local Clinical and Medical Oncologists, with Q+A sessions. As well as holding debates on such topics as; the ethics of research, the cost of cancer treatment and the support available for patients post-treatment.
Soon you will also be able to follow the society and stay up to date with all up and coming events via Facebook. A link to this will be sent via email when the page goes live.
