Departmental Postgraduate Induction meeting

Time: 11am 
Location: PS 128 (Physical Sciences Building)
Please come along to attend a welcome seminar from the Head of Department.
There will various other presentations which will be useful and informative to help you settle into your new environment. This will include the Health and Safety Talk.

Departmental Postgraduate Welcome Reception

Time: 4pm
Location: Physics concourse - 3rd floor of the Physics Building

There will be an informal drinks reception on the Physics concourse, where you can meet your fellow postgraduates, researchers and academic staff in the Department over drinks and nibbles.

Tuesday 3rd October 2017

Induction Talk by the Director of Graduate Studies, Professor Matthew Turner

Time: 9am

Location: PS 128 (Physical Sciences Building)

This talk contains extremely important information for all Postgraduates, whether you are previously a Warwick student of if you are new to Warwick.

Dr. Tom Hase will address you regarding teaching and demonstating duties.

Mrs. Tracy Horton will address you regarding the Skills Forge programme.

Photographs for concourse

Time: 2pm
Location: Common Room in the Physics Building

All new postgraduate should come to the room above to have their photo taken. These will be dispalyed on the Physics concourse to help undergraduates and other members of the department identify you.
Should you wish for a copy for your eventual PGR website please email Susan Tatlock.

Please ensure you are able to attend and advise the Postgraduate Coordinator, Susan Tatlock if you are unable to attend and the reason.

Wednesday 4th October 2017

Physics Teaching and Demonstrating Training Day

Time: 1pm

Location: PS128

It is an expectation that Postgraduate students will undertake some teaching, demonstrating or marking duties, all of which are paid roles. If you have been allocated a role, this training day is obligatory. If you feel you cannot attend please email Tom Hase immediately.
