What are files-based open book exams

For "files-based open book examinations", you download a PDF of the exam paper via the AEP portal. This paper will only be available to registered students and in a timed-manner. The AEP will log when an attempt is started.

You are expected to hand-write you answers (which can include sketches, formulae, etc.), and then photograph/scan and upload them within the allowed time. The upload of solutions as files is the origin of "file based" in the name. The open book part refers to the fact that you will have access to study materials, search engines and past papers during your attempt.

The AEP also allows for invigilation functionality, where examiners can make announcements and respond to queries.
