Why Physics (at Warwick)?
Physics is a practical subject full of beautiful ideas. While studying physics, you will explore deep questions about the origin of the universe and develop your ability to tackle problems and to communicate complex information. You will learn not just from us in lectures and laboratories but also through interacting with your friends and other students.
We offer 3-year (BSc) and 4-year (MPhys) degrees in Physics, Physics with Astrophysics, and in Maths & Physics, and a 3-year Physics with Business Studies (BSc) degree. The programmes are accredited by the Institute of Physics. They cover all of physics, with the flexibility to choose modules according to your interests. Our graduates have excellent employment and higher degree prospects.
Our research is driven by our enthusiasm for discovering and applying physics, and our aim is to transmit this excitement to our postgraduate students. There are opportunities for research degrees at both the PhD (3-4 year) and MSc by Research (12-month) levels across all areas of Physics. Welcome to our Department of Physics at Warwick! We are an enthusiastic community of 1,000 staff and students, learning and using ideas from physics to explain the world around us, to explore fundamental principles and apply some of these in practical situations for societal benefit. Our Department welcomes students from many backgrounds as both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
