Physics Book club

These pages are from our "book club" the friendly name for one aspect of our support staff development activity.

Our aim is to meet every two weeks to share some development activity. It is voluntary and in working time, but each session requires some reading and mental activity outside working hours.

Bob had impressed us with his "handling difficult situations" advice so we started with his book (also available in the library). Bob is now a Professor in the business school. +

Time management tools

Not a book as such, but a sharing of approaches to managing time, mainly email. We studied the Getting Things Done GTD methodology, which is reported as part of the worklife balance advice.

Seven Habits of highly Effective people by Stephen R. Covey

This seems to be one of the most respected management development books, that is on the top ten of most lists. Available in the library. We started in October 2014.

Who Moved My Cheese: An Amazing Way to Deal With Change In Your Work And In Your Life

A short book recommended to us from the LDC about managing change.
