Research Interests

My main research interest is the cognition of deception and deception detection. My PhD focuses on the role of the truth in constructing and delivering lies and the extent to which it both helps and hinders our ability to deceive. I research the intersection of memory and deception and my PhD aims to further our understanding of how different memory processes are recruited to manipulate information and convincingly deliver a false message. Understanding the role of the truth in the deceptive process will help us refine methods of deception detection to better elicit the truth from deceptive subjects.
