MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology

The MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology is designed for Psychology graduates who plan to apply for admission to doctoral training programmes in Clinical Psychology and wish to strengthen their credentials for the competitive entry process.

"This MSc offers a unique opportunity to combine academic and practical experience in the field of Clinical Psychology. It was a fantastic experience for me. I cannot recommend this course enough for those wishing to pursue a career in this field.

The 6-month placement immensely enhanced my understanding of evidence-based practice and the role of Clinical Psychology in the NHS. I was able to apply psychological theory in practice and conduct a clinically relevant service evaluation project. My research competencies also considerably developed through completing a meta-analysis, inspired by psychological intervention observed on placement.

Members of the course team, lecturers and Clinical Psychology Doctorate trainees were extremely supportive and helpful. Seminars were very engaging, both through excellent facilitators and enthusiastic fellow course members, who were always willing to participate in discussion. Questions were welcomed and support was wholly provided throughout the programme.

During the course, in April 2016, I was accepted on the Practitioner Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey. The knowledge, experience and way of thinking I gained from this MSc Clinical Applications of Psychology course at the University of Warwick undoubtedly contributed to me securing this position."
