Support for Female Students

Systems and procedures have been put in place to ensure female students are supported during their time studying at the University.

These include:

  • To ensure personal tutor groups contain at least two female students in any group where females are represented.
  • Female students are scheduled to co-group for safe evening travel home.
  • Induction meetings are in place for all research students.
  • Career and job placements advice is available including a female focus, with links to the University’s Student Career and Skills and International Office resources.
  • The Staff Student Liaison Committee has two representatives one specifically responsible for female issues and one for male issues.
  • Feedback is obtained from current students about their experiences at WMG to identify any additional female-specific support needed.
