Glen Turley
Hi, I am Glen Turley. I am currently a Research Engineer at WMG studying on the Engineering Doctorate (EngD) programme. I have been an Engineer in the automotive industry and I am now applying this knowledge in the healthcare sector, although I am learning new things all the time. My particular areas of interest are coordinate metrology and biomechanics. This involves using the science of measurement and the mathemati.cal expression of motion to solve real world problems.
The title of my research is "Graphical representation of range of motion in the assessment of total hip arthroplasty". The research has involved defining a three-dimensional range of motion benchmark for the hip joint. This benchmark has been used to assess the effectiveness of a new type of hip prosthesis in preventing impingement and dislocation. The work has involved collaboration among WMG, Warwick Medical School, Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Healthcare Trust and Industrial Partners. Please view the following pages to find out more.
