In our Centre for Imaging, Metrology and Additive Technologies, high resolution laser scanning, micro CT and advanced 3D visualisation is allowing researchers to push the boundaries of science and technology an bridge the gap from prototyping to mass low-volume technology.
Cyber Security Centre (CSC)
Our Cyber Security Centre is working to demonstrably advance knowledge of the cyber environment and to protect the human experience within it.
Energy Innovation Centre (EIC)
Our facility for battery research – the Energy Innovation Centre – is developing cheaper, higher energy density, safer batteries for the growing electric and hybrid vehicles market.
- Positioned alongside Arden Conference Centre, the Engineering Management Building is home to our Professional and Executive Programmes.
This new centre brings together several applied areas of activity where WMG has an established track record of excellence. It will support the continued expansion of existing research groups in response to the ever-changing landscape of UK industrial needs. More information

The Materials Engineering Centre will accommodate further research space for applications-driven 'engineering scale' research on metallic, non-metallic and polymeric materials; their composites and hybrid structures. Further enhancing our research infrastructure, it will open up new collaborative opportunities with our business partners, bringing benefits to the local economy. Funding of £10m is from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
The National Automotive Innovation Centre is driving the future of the automotive industry from the heart of the United Kingdom. A beacon for automotive research it brings together the brightest minds from industry and academia, to develop future vehicles and mobility solutions.
WMG's National Polymer Processing Centre (NPPC) provides a hub for innovation and research in polymer processing. The Centre brings a fully integrated approach to plastics design, manufacturing and disposal, encompassing multifunctional design and low environmental impact. Research will focus on innovation in the manufacturing process and processing of advanced functional plastic and elastomer materials. The NPPC will offer bespoke training at all levels using a range of delivery styles, but also including access to ‘hands-on’ training, for the plastics and allied sectors. More information...
