Developing People

This module will raise participants’ awareness of the theories and techniques that relate to the management and improvement of the performance of individuals within and around their teams.

 

On completion, the participant will:

  1. Understand their own development drivers and through this be better placed to develop others.

  2. Recognise and understand factors that can affect effective performance and be able to apply that knowledge to the management of individuals.

  3. Have developed and practiced skills of giving feedback, listening with empathy and managing rapport in the context of effective appraisal.

  4. Understand the processes of effective support from teaching through coaching to mentoring.

  5. Understand the process of counselling.

  6. Set realistic and relevant action plans to apply the learning back at work.

  3. The Four Keys of management

  4. Understanding behaviour

  5. Managing Empathy and Rapport

  6. Techniques for giving and receiving feedback

  7. Coaching skills and techniques

  8. Managing appraisals

 

Duration: 2.5 Days

Assessment: Post Module Assignment
