Process Analysis (PA)

 

Introduction

This module provides an understanding of the fundamental concepts underlying process analysis and the tools and techniques which support that analysis.

Structured exercises and case studies provide application experience which is reinforced by a company based post-module assignment.

 

Key themes, which are central to the module, will:

Show the application of process analysis to both manufacturing and support processes and functions.

Use techniques and give examples which show that a strategic or detailed analysis could take place.

Give a general introduction to the concept of process whether it is a manufacturing or business process.

Use exercises, games and a case as a structured means of developing learning on the subject.

 

Objectives: On completion, the participant will be able to: 

  1. Understand the fundamental concepts of process analysis

  2. Understand basic process configurations and characteristics

  3. Develop an analysis of an organisational process

  4. Understand the role of suppliers and customers in a process

  5. Apply the concepts of flow and speed to process enhancement
