Process Improvement (PI)

 

Introduction

This module provides an understanding of the fundamental concepts underlying process improvement - statistical thinking and a bias towards data, structured exercises provide application experience with the tools and techniques of process improvement; the course material is reinforced by a company based post-module assignment.

 

Objectives: On completion, the participant will be able to: 

  1. Understand the fundamental concepts underlying process improvement.

  2. Understand the applications of the basic tools and techniques associated with process improvement.

  3. Appreciate the significance of process improvement for manufacturers.

  4. Appropriately select and apply the basic concepts, tools and techniques of process improvement.

  5. Understand the framework required for the successful, ongoing application of process improvement.
