Working in Teams

This module is designed to improve business performance through improving participants’ ability to lead and work in teams in a changing environment.
 

The role of the leader is considered as well as a range of models which explore what motivates people, the nature of team membership and the development of effective team working.

 

On completion, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand how team working can contribute to the achievement of improved business performance

  2. Understand and demonstrate effective team working and team building behaviours

  3. Have developed an improved understanding of their own behaviour and role in contributing to the effectiveness of a team

  4. Have developed their understanding of human motivation and behaviour in organisations in the context of working in teams

  5. Have developed an improved understanding of effective leadership behaviour

  6. Set realistic and relevant action plans to apply the learning back at work

  1. The nature of effective team-working

  2. The structure and make up of an effective team

  3. Team development theory and practice

  4. Evaluating the effectiveness of a team

  5. Leadership theory and practice

  6. Team-working simulations are used during the module*

 

Duration: 2.5 Days

Assessment: Post Module Assignment



* A number of physical team exercises will be undertaken during the module. Any ladies attending the module may find the wearing of skirts a disadvantage to the successful completion of the tasks set.



This module is approved by BAE SYSTEMS as a Manufacturing Developing You (MDY) programme “Core Module”.
