Instrumentation and Control

This module will deliver a basic understanding of the principles of industrial measurements and process control.

An overview of sensors and actuator systems in process and their control will be introduced. The fundamental instrument systems and concepts applied in electrical and electronic engineering will be addressed with emphasis on basic control principles, ON/OFF and proportional control applications, and how aspects of Maths and control instrumentation systems form technological engineering.

This will be further developed to a spectrum of system-oriented disciplines including the automotive, railway, aerospace and manufacturing sectors that will form a baseline for specialist modules.
