I am currently in my second year of an Engineering Doctorate at Warwick University, where I am researching rigid polymeric foams for energy absorption. The department in which I work is Materials and Manufacture, which is a part of the Warwick Manufacturing Group.
Prior to taking up a position at WMG I did my undergraduate and a masters course at Cardiff University, in Wales. Both of which were in Mechanical Engineering. Having lived in a capital city doing that study, it is a big change to now be on an enclosed campus such as Warwick, but the scenic surroundings and quieter life have been welcomed.
Having worked closely with Jaguar Land Rover I would like to take up a career in the automotive industry, trips to Jaguar's Gaydon site and the Castle Bromwich manufacturing plant have only helped to encourage that.
Having the sport centre on campus has allowed me to keep active, I play football and squash at least once a week and use the gym twice a week. Being so close to the London Midlands train link, I spend every other weekend in London or back home in Hampshire. The link to Birmingham allows me to do all the shopping I would need, and join other post graduates for a spot of climbing.
Please use the remaining tabs at the top to find out more about some of the topics I have covered.
