Student projects

We support a number of undergraduate projects by lending our engineering expertise and facilities to students. For final year MEng students these form a large part of their final grade.

The projects have evolved greatly over the years, and teams have a strong business focus too with students also assigned marketing, sponsorship and finance roles. This is a chance to experience what it is like to work on a multidisciplinary project before embarking on their career.

Warwick Sub

The Warwick Sub team consists of a team of students from across the University of Warwick. The team works together to produce a human powered submarine to compete against other universities in the European International Submarine Races (eISR).

Warwick Racing

The Warwick Racing team is tasked with designing, manufacturing and testing a single seat race car for the international Formula Student competition at Silverstone.

Warwick Rail

The Warwick Rail Challenge team is made up of fourth year engineering students who are tasked with designing and building a locomotive to compete at the annual IMechE Railway Challenge.

The panel of industry judges take each of the locomotives through a series of complex checks for efficiency, sustainability, innovation and impact.
