New for 2019 entry
This year, WMG are introducing a tuition fee deposit for offer holders, in order to secure the applications offer of a place.
- The deposit for Home/EU students is £750
- The deposit for Overseas students is £1500
Applicants will be required to pay this deposit by 15th May 2019, information on how to do this will be sent to offer holders in the New Year.
If the applicant holds a scholarship or has been shortlisted for funding, they will not be required to pay this deposit. We will instead ask for supporting evidence of the scholarship status on the deposit form.
Our office opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Fridays 8:30am to 4:00pm, UK time.
We are closed on UK bank holidays and public holidays (such as Christmas and Easter). The email out of office will provide an auto-response when we are closed and will advise you when the office will re-open.
It is important that when you are submitting an application for a student that you include BOTH your email address and the applicants email address, this is to enable us to keep all parties included in on any decisions on applications or information requests.
We aim to provide decisions on applications within 6-8 weeks of receipt of supporting documentation. Please do not chase the Admissions Team for decisions until after this timeframe.
We are not permitted to accept offers on behalf of applicants. This is because offer holders must indicate that they accept our terms and conditions when accepting their offer.
If the offer cannot be accepted via the online portal then the student should complete the web form which can be found at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/wmg/education/wmgmasters/forms/accept_offer
We are still able to Decline offers on behalf of applicants.
We can only accept references uploaded or emailed directly from the referee’s academic/professional email address. Alternatively, original references can be posted to WMG. Please note, we are not able to accept references sent by applicants, as references must be received directly from the referee. This is University policy and it is to ensure that references are authentic and we're in direct communication with your referees.
If you provided your referees email address on your application at the time of applying, then they will have been automatically contacted to request they provide your reference directly to us. If you did not provide these details on the application then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to provide the following details for your referee/s:
- Academic/professional email address
- Full name
- Job title
- Details of their relationship to you (i.e. personal tutor)
If you have studied full-time or part-time in higher education within the last two years, we require an academic reference from an individual who has directly taught you (or who has supervised your academic research) in your final year of study.
If you have not been in higher education within the last 2 years, you may instead nominate a person with knowledge of your current or most recent employment activity to act as your referee. Such a referee must have acted as your supervisor or line manager (or similar role) and must explain in the reference how he/she knows you. If you have been self-employed, so do not have someone in a managerial position who can provide a reference, then please contact us and we will advise you further.
We would consider a change of course for an applicant who has been made an offer for a WMG course, we cannot consider a change of course between other departments at the University.
For us to consider a change of course request we would need you/the applicant to provide a revised personal statement to us by email, advising why they are interested in the course.
We would not consider a change of course where an applicant has already been rejected for a course.
We are not able to consider requests for a change of course at the start of term. Any change of course requests should be made prior to the issuing of a CAS, as we are not able to consider any requests once a CAS has been issued. We are also not able to consider any requests to change course after 31st August 2019.
Applicants must hold an unconditional offer that has been firmly accepted by 1st September 2019 to enable study for the 2019/20 academic year.
If an applicants university will not issue their final academic result by this date, then you (or the applicant) must notify us by email (to email@example.com) in advance of this date. We will not extend this deadline for English Language results or references.
We are not able to start the CAS process until May-June 2019 time. Please do not chase us on providing CAS for your applicants any earlier than this as we are not able to provide them before this. As soon as we are able to start issuing CAS we will send the email to start the CAS process to the email address/es provided on the application form.
Pre-sessional students will be contacted late May, followed by MSc only students from the beginning of June.
We ask that you are patient in receiving the CAS for your students, and only chase this up after 10 working days have passed since the CAS response was submitted via the online form.
The Admissions Team are not able to provide advice on visa's. You should contact the Immigration Team through their website contact form which can be found at: https://www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/international/immigration/current/connect/form/
Registration date for the 2019/20 cycle will be on Wednesday 25th September and Thursday 26th September 2019.
All students should plan their flight tickets accordingly to be on time for registering with WMG on this date. Registration at WMG is compulsory (and is separate from enrolment and visa checks with the University) and you should make every effort to register on time as there are compulsory sessions that you should attend.
Please note, the latest we will accept you onto any of our courses is Monday 30th September 2019, so you must be at the University by this date.

Where you have made a payment on your fees and would like this reflected on your CAS you must allow Student Finance 10 working days to process this payment, and you should not chase this any sooner.
The WMG Admissions Team do not update payments, so once 10 working days have passed you should chase the Student Finance Team directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 024 765 28471.
Accommodation queries are dealt with by the Warwick Accommodation Team. 04/02/2019 - We are receiving a large amount of emails chasing results on applications, which means whilst we deal with these email queries it is unfortunately taking us longer to process decisions.
With that in mind, we ask that you please allow us up to 12 weeks to process decisions, from receipt of supporting documents, before chasing us for a decision on applications.
We appreciate your patience at this busy time.
25/10/2018 - We have recieved reports that the application system is working at a slower speed than normal. This is due to the high volume of applications currently being submitted. This should improve in due course.
