MSc in Programmes and Projects Management

The course aims to support the development of personnel for Engineering, Manufacturing, IT services, Process-based and other organisations. This is achieved by developing the capability to manage and lead in technology-based and other organisations and providing a knowledge and understanding of the context and key processes of project and programme management.


On completion, successful candidates will be able to:

  • Understand the context in which Project Management is conducted
  • Understand of the principles and philosophies which underlie successful project and programme management
  • Understanding of the human factors which influence the conduct of project and programme management
  • Apply the methodologies and tools used in project and programme management
  • Recognise, anticipate and manage the inherent uncertainties and difficulties in project activities
  • Recognise and appraise the financial and business implications of options and actions and hence estimate, plan and cost activities, projects and programmes
  • Assess needs for change and to flexibly adapt to change when appropriate
