Withdrawing from your Course

If you decide you will be unable to complete your course of study, you request this via your Student Record: Student Records Online.

Please note that if you require student entry clearance or leave to remain (a ‘visa’) to study in the UK, withdrawal from your course is likely to affect your permission to remain here in the UK. Furthermore, if you are a sponsored student, i.e. you were issued with a CAS by Warwick that you used to obtain your Tier 4 visa, and you decide to discontinue your studies, the University is required to stop sponsoring you. We are required to withdraw your CAS, and report your withdrawal from your course to the UKVI. As you would no longer have a valid Tier 4 sponsor, you would then be required to leave the UK.

Although this states that it should be used if you do not intend to return to complete your studies, it may be possible for you to return to complete your programme at a later date. In this case you should re-apply in the way you applied originally, accompanying your application with a request for previous coursework credit to be carried forward to your new registration. If your application to return is successful, you may be considered for Accreditation of your Prior Learning (APL) for (WMG) coursework credits PASSED in the five year window prior to your return.

If no written request for withdrawal is received before your End of Registration Period you may be deemed to have failed by an Examination Board, in which case you may NOT return with credit to complete the MSc.
