Institute of Digital Healthcare Hosts 3rd Annual West Midlands Health Informatics Network (WIN) Conference
On 24th January the Institute of Digital Healthcare (IDH) successfully hosted the 3rd Annual WIN Conference in the Rootes Building, University of Warwick. Over 150 delegates attended the event which for the first time was sponsored by external organisations – Birmingham City University, Comfort Care, IBM Watson Healthcare, HiCOM, Synaptic – as well as the Institute of Digital Healthcare with support from the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network. 30 exhibitors supported the event showing off their products and services.
The West Midlands Health Informatics Network’s second annual conference will be held on 26 January 2016 at the University of Warwick. The conference will provide attendees with the opportunity to find out about innovation and research, share good practice and experiences, and network across health and care settings.
The conference will include four parallel tracks: Patient Safety, Smart Data & Interoperability, Patient-Centric Care (including integrated care and long-term conditions), and Healthy Ageing. In addition to keynote speakers and invited talks, there will be a selection of talks, panel sessions and posters. The West Midlands Health Informatics Network hosted its second showcase for innovations in digital health and care technology on 16 November 2015 at WMG, University of Warwick. The aim of this Open Network event was to encourage collaboration that will result in improved outcomes for public health, wealth and wellbeing. The event included:

- Talks by Dr Chris Weiner, Director of Public Health at Staffordshire County Council, and Professor Simon Brake, Director of Primary Care, Sustainability and Integration at Coventry City Council (followed by Panel discussion)
- "Show-and-tell" from public sector/NHS, academia, and industry
- Networking and sharing good practice
