WMG Intelligent Vehicles Masterclass courses

WMG’s Intelligent Vehicles research team have announced a digital masterclass series in developing skills to support the shift to Automated, Connected, Electric and Shared transport.
We are improving productivity and competitiveness for UK manufacturing through training and skills.

The masterclasses are short courses, charged at £650 per person incl. VAT. All courses will be delivered over 4 days, to deliver a total of 8 hours teaching online via Microsoft Teams. Normally this is delivered as 2 hours per day, but it can be flexible. Each course will be delivered by a senior teaching fellow working within the WMG intelligent vehicles research group.
Discounted rates are available to companies wishing to book a group of delegates, or for delegates who book onto more than one course.

Masterclass: Perception sensors for intelligent vehicles
Dates TBC (autumn term)
Aims: The aim of this masterclass is to develop a basic knowledge of the key sensors of intelligent vehicles, their
working principles, strengths and weaknesses, simulation, emulation and testing, incorporating ADAS/automated
vehicles as the context.
Participants will gain a basic understanding of challenges associated with intelligent vehicles and the key role of sensors. Through an analysis of perception sensors, group exercises and case studies, participants will be aware of the state of the art and ongoing research in this field.

Masterclass: Introduction to development and test methods for Intelligent Vehicles
Dates TBC (autumn term)
Aims: Participants will gain basic knowledge of model-based development, the role of testing and different testing methodologies and the role of standards and safety analysis.

Masterclass: Communications, connectivity and 5G for future intelligent vehicles
Dates TBC (autumn term)
Aims: Participants will gain a basic understanding of challenges associated with Intelligent Vehicles and the key role of emerging vehicular communications.
Through the analysis of the principles of the operation of wireless data communication systems, group exercises and case studies, they will be aware of the state of the art and on-going research in this field.
