Wunmi Ogunde is an engineer with a passion for people and knowledge. She has a bachelor’s degree in Automatic Control Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, and an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from WMG, University of Warwick. It was during her time at WMG that she began to see the need for manufacturing and recycling processes to enhance sustainability for the future.

Wunmi served as a research analyst with the Materials sustainability department in WMG in 2011 where she focused her research on plastic food packaging and recycling of solid waste materials.

Wunmi has over 7 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry where she worked as the Technical Manager for production and recycling of plastic materials.

Currently, she is the Co-founder of Ecoprune Africa, a social enterprise that provides recycling solutions and green energy services.

She is also the founder of EMR consult an environment and manufacturing consultancy agency. She is the Editor and publisher of “ECO-DIGEST an environmental/sustainability magazine.

Wunmi is also the convener of the international pollution control conference (POLCON); POLCON is a catalyst connecting all stakeholders in the industry to finding a lasting solution to the years of pollution in Africa.

Wunmi received the LEAP AFRICA honours award for her contribution to the developments of youths in Africa in 2018, her company also received an award for the top emerging 100 SME businesses in Nigeria. In 2019, her company Ecoprune was also recognized as one of the “14 brands we love” in Nigeria.
