Topic: Open source platform for Industry 4.0 solution implementations

Prof. Jerker Delsing received the M.Sc. in Engineering Physics at Lund Institute of Technology, Sweden 1982. In 1988 he received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Measurement at the Lund University. During 1985 - 1988 he worked part-time at Alfa-Laval - SattControl (now ABB) with development of sensors and measurement technology. In 1994 he was promoted to associate professor in Heat and Power Engineering at Lund University. Early 1995 he was appointed full professor in Industrial Electronics at the Lulea University of Technology where he very recently was appointed chair of CyberPhysical Systems. His present research profile is IoT/SoS Automation, with applications to automation in large and complex industry and society systems. Prof. Delsing and his EISLAB group have been a partner of several large EU projects in the field, e.g. SOCRADES, IMC-AESOP, Arrowhead, FAR-EDGE, Productive4.0, and Arrowhead Tools.

Delsing holds positions as vice president and board member of ARTEMIS-IA, and board member of ProcessIT.EU and ProcessIT Innovations.

Andrew Williams is the Process Innovation Manager for Lear Corporation’s global manufacturing operations. He is currently leading the research and development of digital manufacturing, advanced vision and automation technologies for the 215 global plants. Andrew has been with Lear Corporation for 11 years and in the automotive industry for over 34 years working in the OEM or in the Tier 1 or automation equipment supply base. His roles have included product design and development of seating systems, setting up production JIT plants and more recently in the industrial application of machine learning.

Andrew holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middlesex University, London and is currently studying for his PhD within manufacturing systems.

Euan is the Industrial Sector CTO in Global Markets for IBM UK. With over 20 years experience in delivering technology innovation for clients across multiple sectors, Euan has spent the last 8 years focussed on Industrial clients, initially as the Chief Architect on a large UK Manufacturing client and latter across the entire UK Industrial manufacturing sector. Euan is particularly focussed on all aspects of innovation and digital transformation, in particular helping clients unlock the value of data within their organisation through the use of data science, edge, IIoT, integration and security in the context of Industry 4.0, at whatever scale that may be. Based in the West Midlands, Euan holds a Batchelors Degree in Computer Science from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
