Emile Glorieux is a PhD student in Production Technology at University West in Trolhättan, Sweden. He received his Master’s Degree in Mechatronics from KU Leuven Technology Campus Ostend, Belgium. During her master, he researched automatic offline path planning and robot programming for 3D-printing using robotic metal deposition. After his master studies, he continued working on this as a research assistant at the Production Technology West research centre of University West in Trollhättan, Sweden. His research interests are manufacturing simulation, automatic path planning and robot programming, multi-robot systems, evolutionary computations, and simulation-based/multi-objective optimisation. Currently he is working in the PROSAM+ project, financed by Västra Götalandsregionen, to strengthen strategic collaboration in research between University West in Trollhättan and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. His work in this project focuses on optimal multi-robot and machine coordination for press line tending to improve productivity, energy efficiency and reduce wear of the robot components. This involves investigating and developing effective and efficient simulation models, mathematical models, and algorithms to estimate the productivity, energy efficiency, and wear of multi-robot systems, such as press lines for multi-stage stamping.
