Dimensional Management Workshop
Controlling Manufacturing Process Variation
Using Dimensional Management to reduce variability and cut costs
Free Workshop at the University of Warwick
Manufacturing process variation can impact significantly on the operations and profitability of a company. This workshop aims to introduce techniques that help companies to understand, control, predict and reduce the levels of process variation in their manufacturing operations.
28th & 29th June or 5th & 6th July, 2011
This workshop demonstrates tools and techniques that will allow a manufacturing company to quantify and understand the variation of its manufacturing processes. Once the variation can be quantified, actions can be taken to reduce the impact on customers (and the company’s bottom line) along with preventing the same issues arising on future products. The tools can be used throughout a product’s lifetime, from the Concept stage through to volume manufacturing.
Who Should Attend?
Content for the workshop has been derived from automotive manufacturing best practice, but the tools and techniques can be applied to any company with a mechanical engineering-based manufacturing process. The techniques can be applied to any process, from one-off bespoke operations to high volume manufacturing; and across the process chain, from concept development through to production.
Why Should You Attend?
Manufacturing process variability can affect all aspects of a company’s operations, but most importantly it will increase the costs and reduce profitability. In these uncertain economic times, it is essential for companies to minimise their cost-base whilst still meeting the requirements of their customers. You will learn how to reduce manufacturing process variability and improve financial performance.
