Customer Interaction with Vehicle Interiors

Switch Testing

A major focus for this Centre’s research is the numerous ways in which the customer interacts with the vehicle, or the human machine interface (HMI) as it is known in the industry. Building on past and current research projects in the field of automotive HMI, supported by both regional development agency and research council funding, the Centre is now focusing on next generation interaction technologies and their impact on the customers’ driving experience.

Through a combination of subjective feedback from customers and objective measurement data, this workstream will identify and evaluate new and appropriate technologies to help our partners specify and develop user-centred HMI solutions in their future vehicles.
