DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT FOR GlobalPAD
This Data Protection statement refers to the data held on our websites. These include www.globalpad.net and websites using sub-domains of globalpad.net e.g. moodle.globalpad.net; store.globalpad.net; crm.globalpad.net and the GlobalPAD homepage www.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/al/globalpad. These websites are collectively known as “GlobalPAD” and are operate on behalf of the Centre for Applied Linguistics, at the University of Warwick. Your data is securely held by GlobalPAD and the Centre for Applied Linguistics and will be treated confidentially and appropriately in facilitating your purchases through the site and access to the resulting Digital Content.
The data is for the use of Centre of Applied Linguistics and the University of Warwick to arrange access to the Digital Content (as defined in the terms and conditions of sale on globalpad.net) on moodle.globalpad.net; arrange the processing of payment for licences to the Digital Content; inform you about similar products or services that we provide. The data will only be disclosed to external organisations (including our authorised agents or representatives) to allow the data to be used for the purposes detailed above if or required by law.
Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 you have the right to object to the use of your data for any of the above purposes and in this regard you should contact email@example.com.

The GlobalPAD websites which are operated on behalf of the Centre for Applied Linguistics, at the University of Warwick, use Google Analytics and SiteBuilder statistics to help us analyse how users use the sites. These tool use “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour in an anonymous form. This information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google or the University of Warwick Information Technology Service (ITS). This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for use by the Centre for Applied Linguistics, at the University of Warwick.
We will not (and will not allow any third party) to use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source as part of our use of the Google statistical analysis tool. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Neither the University nor GlobalPAD will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user.
Disabling and enabling cookies
The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is an industry body that develops standards and guidelines to support online business processes. It has produced a series of web pages which explain how cookies work and how they can be managed – see http://www.allaboutcookies.org/. As referred to above, you have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings on your browser.
ONLINE CHECKOUT FORM
The information which is gathered on our online payment forms is used for the purpose of administering your booking and will only be used for this purpose. Cookies must be activated in your web browser if you wish to complete our payment form online however this will only relate to the processing of your order.
You can purchase goods and services on the website by making payments online or, for multi user licenses, through requesting an invoice.
For online transactions we use a third party supplier to process online payments, which are transacted on a secure server using SSL (secure sockets layer). The company we use is WorldPay, one of the world’s largest and most highly renowned e-commerce transaction and payment companies. WorldPay has its own privacy statement which is available at http://www.worldpay.com/.
When you purchase goods or services online from us, you are transferred to WorldPay’s secure server environment where the complete transaction is processed. You will be informed that you are entering a secure environment (which is demonstrated by a padlock symbol) and the URL will contain https://.
If we process an online credit card transaction on your behalf, the personal credit or debit card information you provide us with is only used for the purpose of processing that transaction, and is not stored on our system.
At no time during the online payment process are we provided with your personal credit or debit card information, which is processed and encrypted completely by WorldPay. The GlobalPAD website does not store sensitive financial information on customer purchases, nor is it at any time made available to us.
For invoice transactions, the data we collect will also be held on the University of Warwick’s customer database and used for invoice and payment processing purposes.
