June McCready

Job Title
Teaching Fellow
Department of Applied Linguistics

I was a Warwick undergraduate, completing a BA in English/Spanish and subsequently a Masters degree in English Literature specialising in the eighteenth century novel. A PGCE specialising in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the City of Birmingham Polytechnic followed. Work experience subsequently included teaching Business English in London, Paris and Barcelona. I was involved in both teacher training and the Pre-sessional at the University of Liverpool and have since been here at Warwick contributing to the courses listed here. My involvement mainly centres around my particular interest in exploring the links between pronunciation and listening skills. Non-teaching experience has included working in France on a project centralising documents connected to the French Revolution and working for Human Rights Internet in Washington DC documenting cases of abuse. I am currently working on developing a website which is intended to become an extension of my In-sessional Pronunciation Course.
