Today we presented a well-received talk at the International Symposium on Bilingualism, entitled 'Effects of orthography on bilinguals’ second language phonology: Number of letters and sound duration in speech production and awareness'. The abstract is here
3 May 2017: Two conference abstracts accepted
Two conference abstracts were accepted today for presentation in the forthcoming European Second Language Association conference to be held in Reading, UK, on 30th August - 2nd September 2017.
19 April 2017: Former team member receives award
Mirjana Sokolović-Perović, who was the project's Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick, has received a Teaching Excellence Award by the Student Union at her current institution, the University of Reading. Well done Mirjana!
31 March 2017: Project completion day
The project ended officially today. It had started on 1st September 2013, and lasted for three years (minus a six-month break between 1st September 2014 and 31st March 2015, following Bene's move from the University of York to the University of Warwick). It seems like yesterday that it all started, time flies!
13-17 February 2017: Debriefings in schools
This week Bene Bassetti was in Rome, meeting students and teachers in the high-schools that collaborated with our project. Students and teachers were very interested, and there were nice group and face-to-face discussions. Great to read the enthusiastic thank-you letters from the schools -- and all of them have volunteered to take part in future projects!

31 January 2017: Dr Tania Cerni's last day
Today was the end of Dr Tania Cerni's contract. It was sad to see her go, and we wish her great success in her future career.
