MA ELT programmes
We run a suite of seven MA programmes in English Language Teaching (ELT). Each programme has its own distinctive character, which is reflected in its core courses and the choice of dissertation topics. Students choose the programme which is most appropriate to their academic background, their teaching experience and their future professional plans. Experienced teachers may undertake the MA in English Language Teaching (Generalist programme), or specialise in English for Specific and Academic Purposes, English for Young Learners, ICT, Teacher Education or Testing and Assessment. Pre-experience teachers may undertake the MA in English Language Teaching (Studies and Methods), or specialise in ICT. In recent years, the MA ELT suite has attracted students from over 90 countries from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. Many former MA students now occupy senior positions throughout the world.

Our Short Courses are "tailor-made", personally negotiated and individually designed for groups from universities, colleges, education ministries, and international companies, among others. We provide teacher training courses relating to our various areas of expertise for groups of pre-service and in-service teachers. English Language Development for both general and specific purposes is an important part of many of our courses . In addition to English for Academic purposes, we offer English for teachers, trainers and those in international business and management.
