Review of the Dance and Drama Award Scheme (2009)
Jonothan Neelands, Sheila Galloway and Geoff Lindsay with Robert Lindley and Heike Behle of the Institute for Employment Research (IER).
In collaboration with Jo Winston (WIE), Maggie Morris, Ian Kellgren, Matthew Winston.
CEDAR was commissioned in July 2009 in conjunction with IER and research partners above to complete a review of the Dance and Drama Award Scheme, the national programme now administered by the Learning and Skills Council. This followed CEDAR/IER’s previous work on the major evaluation phases of the scheme. This project was led by Jonothan Neelands (Warwick Institute of Education).
This intensive project took account of the very different context in higher education which had developed since the original Dance and Drama Scheme began. Major changes had also taken place within this particular sector for those beginning a career.
The review used new surveys, analysis of existing data from providers, interviews and focus group consultations to develop a rounded strategic assessment of current provision. We reported in November 2009.
