The European Union’s Framework 7 programme funded this project under its Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities theme. Led by a team from the University of Utrecht, the project involved partners in Italy, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Poland and France and the UK. Warwick’s Institute for Employment Research undertook an analysis of government policy here on age management, and conducted a survey of companies about their strategies to manage employees’ development throughout the life cycle as well as pre-retirement. CEDAR managed the component concerning older people’s contribution to civil society through the voluntary sector and Sheila Galloway carried out the organisational case studies focusing on age management.
