ANDREW PARKER (B.Ed. MA. PhD) is Lecturer in Sociology, Director of the Warwick Centre for the Study of Sport in Society (WCSSS), and Associate Research Fellow in the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research (CEDAR). He also acts as a Course Advisor on the Warwick Teaching Certificate, which is administered via the University's Centre for Academic Practice (CAP). He teaches undergraduate modules in the Sociology of Education and the Social Construction of Masculinities and convenes MA programmes in the Sociology of Education, Sport, Politics and Society, and Qualitative Research Methods. He is a former secondary school teacher-educator and also has experience of working in manufacturing industry. His research and supervisory interests centre around the Sociology of Education and the Sociology of Sport. Published articles reflect these interests and have appeared in periodicals such as Gender and Education, Sociology of Sport Journal, and the Journal of Education and Work.
